UFC 192: Cormier vs. Gustafsson Draftkings Fantasy

What: UFC 192: Cormier vs. Gustafsson

Where: Toyota Center, Houston, Texas

When: Saturday, October 3rd, 2015

The three-fight Fight Pass card starts at 6:40 p.m. ET, the four-fight Fox Sports 1 main card starts at 8 p.m. and the five-fight pay-per-view card kicks off 10 p.m.

If you haven't tried out Kountermove, you are missing out. The rules are simple:

1. 25k salary cap

2. You pick 5 fighters. Values are based on favorite/underdog mostly.

3. Earn points and (try to) win money.

Points are earned for significant strikes, takedowns, submission attempts, dominant positions maintained, rounds won and for finishing (ranging from 100 points for a 1st round finish to 50 points for a 3rd round or later finish.

Draftkings is the big dog in cash pay outs for fantasy mma it is a must play for fantasy, their rules are a little different than Kountermove and instead of 25k salary money it is 50k. Be sure to check the scoring it is a little different than Kountermove.

1. 50k salary cap

2.You pick 5 fighters.

Kountermove Team

Daniel Cormier ($5600)
Derrick Lewis ($4700)
Rose Namajunas ($5200)
Albert Tumenov ($5200)
Sage Northcutt ($4700)

Draftkings Team

Albert Tumenov ($10,300)
Rose Namajunas ($10,600)
Islam Makhachev ($9,700)
Derrick Lewis ($9,400)
Ruslan Magomedov ($9,900)

Daniel Cormier (Kountermove Salary) ($5600) – I don't see how Gustafsson will be able to keep Cormier off of him with his superior grappling and athleticism. Cormier will close the distance quick and dominate in the clinch and in top position he should easily win a decision or possibly get a late submission victory.

Derrick Lewis (Kountermove Salary) ($4700) (Draftkings Salary) ($9,400) – Lewis has a finish prop of -530 which is the highest on the board by vegas odds. He has finished all his 12 pro fights. He is perfect for what you look for in a underdog that has a cheap price and who can rack up some points on your team and win.

Rose Namajunas (Kountermove Salary) ($5200) (Draftkings Salary) ($10,600) – is making her UFC debut vs Angela Hill and the matchmakers have done her a favor by pairing her up vs Hill who has many holes in her game. Hill is not on Namajunas level who should use her superior grappling and get the submission victory. She is a must have in tourney and cash game formats.

Albert Tumenov (Kountermove Salary) ($5200) (Draftkings Salary) ($10,300) – has finished 10 fights by TKO. His opponent has been dropped in the first round several times. Tumenov has a high floor but also has high upside to finish the fight early he should be able to rack up points with his striking even if it goes to a decision.

Sage Northcutt (Kountermove Salary) ($4700) (Draftkings Salary) ($10,500) – When Kountermove and Draftkings released their salary of Northcutt he was a -250 favorite now he is up -440 that is value you simply can't ignore. With serious stopping power the matchmakers did him a favor for his first UFC fight and are trying to put him in position to win.

Makhachev (Draftkings Salary) ($9,700) – is an extremely skilled, extremely entertaining grappler, which is the reason I was so disappointed to see this match up with Martins. He needs to use his accurate punching and dodge the power punches of Martins. I picture this fight going to a decision but along the way Makhachev scores points with his striking and getting some takedowns.

Magomedov (Draftkings Salary) ($9,900) – has the range edge in this match and his opponent Jordan will have to get inside if he wants a chance to win. Luckily, Magomedov specializes in working from the outside and preventing his opponents from getting close. Magomedov doesn't have to adjust his game plan because he used to fighting guys like Jordan. This fight is -240 that it doesn't go to a decision, someone will get KO'ed and hopefully we are on the right side with Magomedov.

Good luck !
