Breakdown
Fedor Emelianenko vs. Ryan Bader
Bader (26-5) is going to dictate the terms of the action and will use his wrestling to get the advantage over Emelianenko. Fedor (38-5) is still dangerous and a live dog, but I’m backing Ryan Bader to defeat the great Fedor Emelianenko via ko inside the distance to win the heavyweight grand prix and become the promotion’s first ever simultaneous two-division champion.

Outcome:
Ryan Bader defeats Fedor Emelianenko via KO (punches) at 0:35 of round 1.
Just as I forecasted in my breakdown, Bader connected with an early left hook that put Emelianenko on the canvas. While the bout was essentially over with the first shot, Bader finished with a pinpoint right hand and a few follow-up hammer fists before referee Mike Beltran could intervene quickly stepped in to bring the fight to a halt at the 35-second mark of the opening round.
